The Story Behind My Journey
When people ask me what I want to do, I may not have one specific job title in mind — but I do have a pretty clear idea of the kind of work I enjoy.
Hi, I’m Gurbani Kaur. I’ve always been curious about how businesses work, how people and teams come together, and how ideas turn into something real.I like being involved in the process — planning, coordinating, solving problems, and figuring out what needs to happen next. I also enjoy seeing things through. Over time, this curiosity has naturally drawn me towards project management, operations, and business management.
Stepping outside the classroom has helped me understand how much I enjoy working with people, taking responsibility, and turning ideas into action. Through internships, college organisations, events, and community initiatives, I’ve experienced different sides of working with teams and getting things done.
Each experience has taught me something new. I’ve developed skills in communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and managing responsibilities. I’ve also learned how to handle unexpected situations and understand the work behind the scenes.
I’m also exploring digital marketing and social media, which brings out my creative and curious side. I enjoy understanding how brands communicate, how ideas are presented, and how businesses connect with people in the digital world. Rather than choosing between management and marketing, I’m interested in how the two come together. Together, they help me understand how modern businesses communicate, operate, and grow.
The Kind of Work I Enjoy
What excites me most isn’t simply collecting experiences. It’s being given something to figure out.
I enjoy situations where I can take ownership, work with different people, solve problems, and adapt when things change. I like asking questions, trying things out, and learning as I go. That’s where I’ve learned some of my most meaningful lessons.
The Road Ahead
For now, I’m building towards a career where I can manage projects, improve the way things work, and solve problems. I also want to work with people and contribute to something bigger than myself. At the same time, I want to keep exploring the creative and digital side of business.
I’m still writing the first chapters of my career, and I don’t know exactly where every chapter will lead. But I know I want to keep learning, keep creating, and keep becoming someone who brings curiosity, ownership, and real value to whatever I’m a part of.
